Stephanie + David // Sisters, Oregon
Stephanie and David are seriously two of the most fun people we have ever met! When shooting their engagement session a few months ago, it was like just hanging out with some goofy friends. So lets get on with the story of their big day!
This wedding was shot by Jay and he brought a long a friend to second shoot. This isn’t just any friend… Jay brought Jason Williams from Session Nine Photographers. Jay did photos and video as usual and Jason did photos as well. Driving from Portland to Sisters was absolutely gorgeous. And gorgeous is an understatement! We pulled over a few times just to take photos of the magic we saw that Oregon has to offer. Us Arizonans aren’t used to scenery like this. Once we arrived to the venue late at night, we were greeted by the bride’s father who asked us to take a shot of tequila with him and everyone else to toast to the soon to be couple.
The next morning, Jay and Jason headed out scouting the venue. Once again, just an absolutely breathtaking place. We started with the ladies getting ready. The bride and her bride’s maids all seem to be pretty relaxed and just enjoyed getting their hair and make up done. I mean, what girl wouldn’t like that?
The guys were out on their patio drinking beer. And then drinking a little more beer. Not too much of course 😉
Ceremony time! Thats when the tears started flowing! Especially from the groom. With the set up facing the lake, it was a truly magical spot for these two to tie the knot. They wrote personal vows and both were serious tear jerkers and even some hilarious one liners. Instead of doing a unity candle or sand poring, they decided to each have their own jar of soil to put in a potted tree so that their combined soil would make that tree grow. SO… AWESOME!
After the ceremony, we headed out for some portraits and could not get over how beautiful the lake was. The awesome thing was that Stephanie and David didn’t seem to care too much. They were in their own little world. Here is a little behind the scenes photo from our instagram:
Back to the reception and it was time for toasts. Every one smiling and laughing and congratulating with stories and memories. However one thing stood out. Stephanie’s maid of honor Noel had an old recording of a song the two of them sang together. I mean super old! They weren’t even teenagers yet! Noel started singing along to the recording and after Stephanie was able to take a breath from laughing so hard she sang a bit too. Such a fun little moment between them. Time to cut the cake and Stephanie went for it and shoved that dessert all over David’s face. He was stunned and couldn’t believe what just happened! He was a gentlemen and only got her back a little bit.
As the night went on with dancing and drinks, Stephanie and David wanted people to enjoy some S’mores by the fire. So they put together some little S’more packages and everyone just sat back and relaxed after a busy fun day.
Stephanie and David, it was BEYOND fun to come out to Oregon and hangout with you two. So happy for you both and cannot wait to see all the awesome things you do together in the many years to come 🙂
